         HOW TO BUY AT AUCTION:

Step by step guide below

1. You can attend a preview of our Auctions usually the Friday & Saturday before the Auction, here you can get a Catalogue and browse through the items yourself, and you can take as long as you like, you can also ask the Auctioneers about any specific items that may catch your eye.
2. On the morning of the Auction you must register if you want to buy anything, on registration we take, names, Tel numbers, address (just so we can write to you about our next Auction) and we give you a 'Bidding Paddle'. This has a number which represents you.
3. Find yourself a comfortable chair and keep an eye on your lot when it comes up for sale, NOTE: The Auctioneers usually do up to 100 lots per hour. So be sure to keep and eye on the TV screens in front.
4. Start bidding... The Auctioneer usually goes up in increments of €5 up to a sale of €70, increments of €10 from €70- €100 and 10% upwards, another words if you are bidding on an item and the last bid is €220, your next bid is €240.
5. If you are successful bidding, congratulations!! You can pay for your item about 20 minutes after it sells, if you have bought a larger item and it needs to be removed by a porter you must wait until near the end of the Auction to collect. All items must be removed from the Auction floor after every Auction, however if you are unable to collect you item, we will be open on Monday until 6pm.
6. I cant attend the Auction but there are 4 items I want to bid on, how can I do this? Simple, we have 'BIDDING SHEETS' available in the Auction Room, you simply fill it out, you may only bid as low as the reserve, otherwise we can't sell it. You must leave Name and address, telephone number, you must call us at end of Auction or on the Monday after to see if you were successful or not.
7. Don't forget buyers are charged commission. If you buy an item worth €95 you pay commission at 17% including Vat. Another words €95 plus €16.50 commission =  €111.50
8.Bidding over the telephone :This is particularly appropriate if you want to place your own bids on a specific lot even though you cannot attend the sale yourself. Telephone bids must be booked in advance with the Auctioneers. They are available on a first-come first-served basis and may be subject to a minimum lot value. You will also be asked to complete a 'Bidding Sheet' in the usual way, providing proof of identity and residence and your contact telephone and fax numbers. On the day of the sale, Brady Fitzgerald representative will telephone you about five lots before your lot comes under the hammer.  - either until you are successful or until you choose to cease bidding.

Note: Payment should be made by way of cash or cheque with Banker's Card.
